The Selling a Home CentreTool

What do I have to disclose to a buyer?

Answer six questions about the home and get a disclosure list sorted into what the law requires, what protects the deal, and what you may keep to yourself. It is a starting point, not legal advice on what to disclose.

What you get. Answer 6 short questions about your situation and get a personalised list drawn from 17 possible documents, each with a one-line reason it is on the list. The list can include: Any hidden defect you know about that makes the home unsafe or unfit to live in; Anything you have covered, painted over or boxed in so it would not be seen; Every water event, what was done about it and the paperwork for the repair; Mould you know about, even behind finished walls; The unpermitted work, and any permit that was never closed; Permits, drawings and the final inspection sign-off for the work; Knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, asbestos, vermiculite or urea formaldehyde foam insulation, if present; An underground oil tank, past or present, and any removal or soil report.
