Why this list matters in a legal matter
This directory lists two kinds of family support services in Ontario by municipality: supervised access centres, which provide a neutral, supervised location for parenting time or exchanges when that is what a parenting arrangement calls for, and Legal Aid Ontario offices, which handle financial-eligibility applications for legal aid certificates and duty counsel.
Both come up often in a separation or parenting matter. A court order or agreement sometimes requires supervised or supported parenting time through a centre near one parent, and confirming there is a centre with capacity in the right municipality is worth doing early. Legal Aid Ontario eligibility is a separate, income-based process handled through its own regional offices, independent of any private lawyer’s fees.
