How can I get a copy of my Ontario corporation's public corporate record?

Ontario corporations are registered in the Ontario Business Registry, which is publicly searchable. You can obtain a corporate profile report, which is the official public summary of your corporation's registered information, through ServiceOntario's online portal or through a registered corporate search provider.

The corporate profile report shows the corporation's name, Ontario corporation number, date of incorporation, registered office address, status (active, in default, dissolved, etc.), and the names and addresses of its current directors and officers as reflected in the most recent filings. It also shows any outstanding filing defaults.

It is worth reviewing your corporation's profile report periodically — at least annually — to confirm the information the province has on file is accurate. If you recently changed directors, officers, or your registered office and the report does not reflect the change, it means a notice of change was not filed. Business transactions, lease applications, and due diligence searches all start with a corporate profile report, so having stale or incorrect information on the public record can slow things down. There is a modest fee for obtaining an official certified copy of the corporate profile report.
